Traveling Through W.W. II
by
Arthur Pranger
Arthur Pranger served with A Company 86th Chemical Mortar Battalion in five campaigns:
Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. In his book, he recounts the two years, two months and twenty-nine days he spent in the service of our country. It is by no means dry reading, as Art has a wonderful sense of humor.
TRAVELING THROUGH W.W.II is filled with interesting anecdotes you won't find anywhere else.
This unique account of the life of a Private in the U.S. Army during the Great war in Europe is available online from Amazon or the publisher, AuthorHouse. (Search using author's name if book title doesn't work.) You can also order it by phone from AuthorHouse: 1-800-839-8640.
Art and his wife Rose, with the expert assistance of their son Larry, created an award winning web site devoted to Art's WWII service and letters - www.private-art.com. I found the site by accident a few years ago while searching for art online. It contains all of Art's letters home, as well as some that friends and family members wrote. It's an incredible glimpse into the era. Check it out.
