~~~ Cat Tales ~~~

 

Members of the feline species can both amuse and infuriate. Some people never learn to appreciate them. I have known a few cats, though, that could charm the most hardened cat haters. The antics of one such creature were inspiration for the story, Fritz.

Even a person who loves cats, as I do, can be exasperated at times by bad behavior. A next door neighbor in the 1980’s had a habit of adopting annoying strays. One of them was so awful that a person who shall remain nameless drove it out of the neighborhood, far enough that it could not find its way back. (It took two trips.) Over the years, I have had the pleasure of knowing some rare individuals. Buddy, the subject of the brief essay, Intoxication, was one in a million, or maybe a billion. What other cat has sat on a piano bench and played the instrument with his front paws. You would not believe what piece of music he was playing when caught on one occasion.

When I find a few free moments, I will add to this section. The cats I have known should provide a wealth of inspiration.

Archie Buckles had never seen a cat like Fritz in all his fifty-nine years. Elegant black and white markings on his fur resembled a tuxedo.
