Germany
Dear honey;
How are my darlings tonight? I haven’t written you in a couple of days. I’ve been pretty busy. I worked until twelve night before last and it was
I went to a little town named Neuerburg near Bitburg. It was a long ride. We left yesterday
If anyone has a job following a map in the States he should try it here. It would be bad enough if things weren’t blown up but it’s twice as bad now. They don’t have many signs on the highways and when you get into a town the streets all look alike. They just went through where the streets were with bulldozers and pushed the bricks, rocks and damaged vehicles off to one side.
I received a couple of letters from you yesterday and one today. I got two packages from you today and the one with the shoes from Charlie. I’ve got plenty of air mail envelopes now honey. I’d have to do a lot of writing to use up what I’ve got. I had bought some stamped ones too.
I’m on guard again tonight. It sure comes around fast. The “Old Man” gave me the devil this morning for not having my wrecker cleaned up. I don’t know when he expected me to do it. It will be done from now on but when I’m working on it and they want some work done they will just have to wait. It seems that having it in good shape for inspections is more important to them than getting the work done so that’s the way it will be for me too. I have to clean it up so it can be painted this week.
I didn’t tell you that I had the name Irene painted on the wrecker did I. Now I’ve got you with me all of the time honey. Irene is a very dependable girl too honey.
Well honey I guess I’d better close for tonight. I go on guard before long now. Goodnight darling. Lots of love for my darlings
Your loving husband
Clarence
