Dear honey;

     How are my darlings today? I’m feeling fine. I’m on C.Q. today. I went on yesterday

     I received four letters from you yesterday, two from ma, and one from Ed. Your letters were the ones from the twelfth, fifteenth, and eighteenth of February and a V-mail of the twenty-eighth. So I did pretty good on my mail. I caught up on some of my back mail anyway.

     I’m glad you got that income tax money. It is about time they came through with it. I suppose that it takes a long time to get these things straightened out though. I guess that I ought to have it quite nice when I get home. You’ll know how to handle all of those jobs, and I won’t have to bother with them. See what you are getting yourself in for? (Ha Ha!)

     I haven’t had a letter later than the one where you said that Chuckie’s eardrums were punctured. I sure hope they heal alright. Do they bother him very much? The poor little fellow sure has his troubles, doesn’t he?

     I have to go to “chow” now. Harvey VanBurren is staying here while I eat. He came down to stay while I went to church, but it was rather late and I hadn’t cleaned up yet so I didn’t go.

     Well honey we had a good dinner today. We had chicken, and it was sure good.

     You should see some of the beards and mustaches some of the fellows are raising now. I’ve got a mustache started, but the beard was a little too much for me. After it gets out a ways, I’ll have one of the fellows take my picture and send it to you.

     I’m going to try to get into town this afternoon. I want to try to pick up something for you and Chucky. Everything is higher than the devil here like it was in England. They have quite a few things in the stores, but I guess that is because they are so high.

     I guess I’d better close for now darling. It is almost time for me to be relieved.

     Lots of love for my darlings

                                                                           Your loving husband

                                                                                      Clarence
